Anderson Aces FAQ

Do I need to tryout for the Aces Program?

Yes.  Each team holds open tryouts. Although specific dates vary by team, all teams conduct tryouts in June-July.

How do I sign up for Tryouts?

Information is posted at atyouthsports.org website under "Aces". Also, tryout information is typically emailed to all ATLL participants.

How much does it cost?

Team fees range between $700-$1200. Fees vary based on age, number of games, tournaments, practices etc.

Do Aces Practice during the Winter?

Yes.  Most Aces teams begin indoor practice in January.  Our program has access to a private indoor baseball facility.  We also host off-season workouts for all disciplines from late September through November as well as offering private lessons throughout the off-season.

When does the Aces season start?

Team practices start in January and lead into the season which is March thru June.

How many games do Aces teams play?

Games schedules vary by age, but most teams play between 20-50 games.  (Older age groups tend to play more.)

Are Aces players eligible for Little League District 9 All-Star teams?

It is up to each team.  Unlike previous seasons, in 2023 the Aces Board removed the requirement of Aces teams (8U-12U) to participate in Little League games.  Therefore, if a team decides not to play Little League games, those Aces players are not eligible for ATLL All-Star teams (see next question).

Can I play Little League and Aces?

Yes, for purpose of gaining eligibility for the Little League All-Star team, an Aces player can be placed on a regular season ATLL team.  The ATLL and Aces seasons run parallel, so scheduling conflicts would exist.  For more information on this, please contact the Director of Baseball Operations ([email protected]).

Aces players are able to play ATLL Fall ball.

Are Aces games local?

The Aces teams play teams from around the greater Cincinnati region, and often play in tournaments on the weekends.  Teams can choose to play in tournaments around the greater Cincinnati region or out of state.

Are Aces teams made up exclusively of Anderson Township Little Leaguers?

No.  Tryouts for the Aces teams are “open.” While most of the players on the team are from Anderson Township, managers are able to select players from other areas.
